Waxing Introduction

Waxing is one of the most popular forms of hair removal offered by salons across the country, it is quick, easy and yes - relatively painless. Because the hair is completely removed by the root you are guaranteed several weeks of smooth hair free skin. When it starts to grow back it is soft thinner hairs, and then once they are approximately 5mm in length you can have them waxed again, which is usually around every five or six weeks. Though that depends on how your hair grows.

I have been waxing professionally for five years and now teach waxing training courses for therapists through the Axiom Wax Academy. The training is accredited by the two main industry associations, The Beauty Guild and BABTAC, as well as HABIA - the government appointed industry standards body.

Brazilian & Hollywood Waxing

Intimate waxing is usually broken down into one of three treatments - Bikini, Brazilian and Hollywood. We are now able to offer all three of these treatments, and we perform the treatments only using new style non-strip Hot wax. Once you have experienced the difference you will never want to go back to a salon that uses warm strip wax. During a bikini wax you will keep your underwear on and we wax the crease at the top of the leg and just either side. We can also remove hairs that grow at the waistline and up to the belly button.

For the Brazilian wax a landing strip of hair is left on the pubic bone, before beginning the treatment you will be asked how wide and how long you would like this strip to be. The hair is then removed from the labia, and the perineum area. We will also remove the hair from the bikini area, and the top of the inner thigh for best results. As part of our standard Brazilian treatment hair is removed from the buttock crack, and if you wish the buttocks too.

For the best looking result the remaining pubic hair is trimmed down to a length you feel most comfortable with.

The only difference with a Hollywood wax is that we remove all of the hair. Again including the buttocks, crack and top of the inner thighs as needed.

His & Hers Brazilian Waxing

Waxing can be rather daunting, particularly the first time you have it done. You don't really know what to expect, how it will feel - is it really that painful? Quite often in these situations it is good to have some moral support.

And that is why we now offer our 'His & Hers Brazilian' treatment. It is a double booking, you both come along for the same appointment slot and are can give each other a bit of moral support. And since this is a double booking you receive a 15% discount on the total treatment cost.

Outback Organics After Wax Products

During our treatments we recommend and use the Outback Organics range of home care products.

The product range started off as SLS and Pareben free Tea Tree skincare products, but have now grown to include the latest after wax products available on the market. Including the Post-Wax Spray and Bush Balm products. These were developed by therapists who spend most of their days waxing clients and so know the problems people face. The spray for example is perfect for guys having a back and shoulder wax - so easy to apply. And the bush balm is essential for anyone having a bikini, intimate, underarm or facial waxing.

Waxing - The Premier Skincare Treatment

For so many people hair removal is just something they need to get done every 4 to 6 weeks to maintain smooth skin. And the experience can often be one of a production line, in-rip-out. This is unfortunate, because it is probably the most popular beauty treatment on offer in most salons. And as such, it should be something that doesn't need to be dreaded - we like to offer something a bit more with our waxing treatments.

Firstly, they aren't rushed - if you want to be in and out for your eyebrow wax in five minutes, we aren't the salon for you. But if you want to come in, have a coffee, get comfortable, discuss what you want from your eyebrow wax and then take it a step at a time to ensure you get the result you are completely happy with then please book in.

We don't view waxing as hair removal - instead it is skincare, we want you to leave with soft, smooth skin. And as such we place a lot of emphasis on the treatment before and after the wax is applied. Ensuring the skin is suitable prepared with both a cleanser and pre-wax oil to provide a very thin lipid barrier, which means that the wax sticks to the hair and not the skin making it a lot more comfortable. Then after waxing we have a three or four stage after wax routine to remove residue so you aren't sticky, cleansing the skin and then soothing and moisturising with specially formulated products.
