Injury Prevention Massage Save Your Hands!
Injury Prevention Massage - Level 1
The first course that practitioners attend is our Level 1 training. This is a one day course where the basics of Injury Prevention Massage (IPM) are taught; firm basics in body awareness, posture and balance that build the base for learning the strokes and a comprehensive selection of strokes for supine and prone application.
On this course we spend time to find out the best tools to use for massage, and where the engine really is to power your strokes. Just this knowledge alone can transform your massage work without learning any new strokes or techniques!
After completing Level 1 a practitioner will have been educated directly in applying techniques to nearly every part of the body. However, with encouragement and initiative, most take the information they learn and adapt it to what they do in their own treatment rooms so that they are able to address even more of the body than that. You will easily be able to incorporate what you learn into what you're currently learning or how you currently work without abandoning all you have learned so far.
Level 1 training does give you enough practical information to go straight back to your treatment room and integrate your newly learned techniques straight away.
If you wish to read more about the benefits of IPM you can download my Introduction to IPM guide as a PDF file (Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view this document).
