About Us

Welcome to the website for The Treatment Den, the new name for mdo massage in Wolverhampton but also incorporating Waxing for Guys and offering some new treatments!

My name is Mathew O'Marah (most people just call me Mat), and I am the owner and therapist here. I started working as a massage therapist in London back in 2002, moving up to Wolverhampton in 2005 and building up my practice here since then.

The Treatment Den is a home based private practice, the treatment room up on the third floor of the house has been specifically decorated and set-up to be a calm space to get away from the world and enjoy your chosen treatments. It is a very large room, much larger then most salon or spa treatment rooms giving it a warm relaxing feel.

All the products chosen are for their quality, results provided and affordable price. I have heavily researched each range I use, and believe them to be the best available on the market. For my skincare and facials this research led me to introduce the Great British Facial - all my skincare treatments are done using products and equipment that are all Made in Britain.

So please have a look at the treatment menu, use the menu above to navigate the site find out more about the treatments and products used. Or please give me a call on  07921 398 412 to find out more or discuss any questions you may have.

Training & Talks

In addition to running my own salon I am now also a qualified and accredited trainer with the Axiom Wax Academy. I teach therapists the art of waxing, be it male intimate Brazilian waxing or an introduction this treatment.

In addition to running training courses I have been invited to speak at several of the UK's largest professional trade shows, including severalProfessional Beauty events in London and Manchester, and I have written articles for the trade press with regards waxing, treatment male clients and working within this industry.

A Private Spa Experience

What does that mean? I have had many treatments in some great Salon's, and I have also had the pleasure of being able to try out some amazing Spa's around the world. There can be such a big difference in price between a Salon and a full Spa experience. I have friends who go to different Salons for different treatments, their facials for example they like to feel a bit more pampered. I like to think every treatment, from a manicure and massage through to a bikini wax should be a pampering experience.

So from the moment you arrive, to the moment you leave I want you to be able to relax, unwind and enjoy the treatments you have in a comfortable, bespoke environment. You can see more pictures of the treatment room in the gallery section of the website here, but here is some of the things we do to help make your experience that little bit special.

  • Upon arrival make yourself comfortable on our large Futon Sofa and freshen up with a hot towel
  • Take a look through the drinks menu and choose something that takes your fancy, hot or cold - it's your choice, all freshly made
  • Have a chat about your treatment, find out a bit more about the products used and go through any after care advice you may need to know about. On your first treatment we go through a full consultation process for you.
  • If you're having a massage for example you will be left alone to undress and get comfortable on the warmed treatment table. While your doing this the lighting in the room will automatically and slowly dim and change colour to help give an atmosphere of calm and relaxation.
  • Most importantly enjoy your chosen treatment.
  • At the end of the treatment, you will once again be left alone to get up in your own time. The lighting will again automatically change to help wake up up, slowly brightening and changing colour - your own private dawn light show.
  • Complete your treatment with complimentary aftercare products and advice, finally a bottle of chilled water for you to take away.

Coffee First

I offer a service called 'Coffee First' because I understand that you may want to find out a little bit more about us, where we are and to meet your therapist.

So you are invited to give us a call and book in for a coffee and chat, come along at an arranged time - all treatments and visits are pre-booked - and have a drink and a chat. If you don't like coffee that's fine, we offer a wide range of drinks to choose from:

  • Chilled water (still or sparkling)
  • Fair Trade Coffee
  • Twinnings Tea (English Breakfast, Earl Grey, Darjeeling, Fruits of the Forest)
  • Espresso
  • Cappucino
  • Cadbury's Hot Chocolate, for those who fancy a little indulgence

Your choice of drink will come with a hot towel to freshen up and a delicious caramelised biscuit or two.You are of course more then welcome to bring along a friend or two if you wish.
